Start with a short, common word. Perfect rhymes share the same ending sound. Near rhymes share most of it, which is how most rap rhymes actually work. Select any result to copy it.

How to use the Rhyme Finder
- Type a word. Use one word and letters only, such as night, flow or mind.
- Read both lists. Perfect rhymes are tidy matches. Near rhymes give you more room and sound natural in rap.
- Filter by syllables. Choose 1, 2 or 3 or more to match the shape of your line.
- Select a word to copy it. Paste it into your notes or say it out loud with a beat.
Using results on beat four
In The Rhyme Game a bar is four beats long and the rhyme lands on beat four. Treat the lists as a bank. Pick two or three perfect rhymes and one near rhyme before you start, then use whichever arrives first. Speed and timing matter more than the perfect word.
For common words you can also open a full page, such as rhymes with night, rhymes with flow or rhymes with mind. Browse the full rhyme word index.
Where the data comes from
Results come from the Datamuse API, using its rhyme and near rhyme requests. Datamuse works from pronunciation data, so love matches above and not move. Its near rhyme list is sparse for many common words, so for words that have their own rhymes with page we add our curated near rhymes first. Lists can include unusual words, so always trust your ear.
Rhyme Finder FAQ
How does the Rhyme Finder work?
It runs in your browser. When you search, your browser asks the free Datamuse API for perfect rhymes and near rhymes of the word you typed, then shows the results in two groups. For words with their own rhymes with page, curated near rhymes are added to the list.
Is the Rhyme Finder free?
Yes. There is no sign up, no limit that we set and no payment. Datamuse may apply its own fair use limits.
What is the difference between perfect and near rhymes?
Perfect rhymes match the last stressed vowel and everything after it, like night and light. Near rhymes match most of that sound, like time and line. Read perfect rhymes versus near rhymes for examples.
Does this tool connect to the official The Rhyme Game?
No. The Rhyme Finder is an independent tool on an unofficial fan site. The official app has its own Rhyme Dictionary, described on the official how to play page.
Why does a word return no results?
The word may be misspelled, very rare or a name that is not in the dictionary. Try a simpler spelling or a common word. Phrases and numbers are not supported.
Can I search more than one word?
The tool searches one word at a time. For multi word phrases, look up the last word of the phrase, because that is the part that rhymes.
Do you store the words I search?
We do not store your searches. Your browser sends the word directly to Datamuse. See the privacy policy for details.
How do I use the results in The Rhyme Game?
Before a session, look up two or three words and say the results aloud. During a session, land one of them on beat four. See the tips guide.
